The Carni were also a historic Gaulish or Venetic tribe in and around the Italian peninsula in Roman times and presumably before. They were encountered by the Romans in the very north of the peninsula and what would now be Slovenia (which also registers in the top 3 locations for Carni globally).
My more recent ancestors are all from the extreme south of Italy. So in 2,000+ years the Carni have moved around.
