Because of unknown circumstances, some people whose that time surnames aren't known, left village Tchicho and moved to village Lelubani. Inhabitants of Lelubani, called these people tchichoeli, which means 'from Tchicho'. After years, Georgia became part of Soviet Union. Letter tch doesn't exist in Russian language, so many people whose surnames included letters like tch decided to change it into ch. This way Tchichoeli transformed into Chichoeli.
