Mathsus Cloig was one of the 'appreciatores camium' (pricers of flesh) in 1403 EBR., I). John Clog in Dundee was charged with aiding the English in 1552 (Beats, p. 327). A tenement was granted in feu farm to Allan Cloge in Glasgow, 1554 (Protocols, I). Alexander Clogg in Over Ardwell, 1674, and three others of the name are in the Commissariot Record of Kirkcudbright, 1663—1800. Thomas Cloggis, merchant in Glasgow, 1606.
