A parish in Lincolnshire.
(or Crenawell, as written in the Battle Abbey Roll), a corruption of Cramanville. This family of De Cramaville was seated in Essex from the Conquest (Testa de Neville), and in Kent held its lands by three knights’ service (Ib.). In 1189 Ralph de Cramaville paid a fine for his estates in Northumberland (Rot. Pip.).
