MSS., 25). A Bruige (Brude) Urcrin is also given in the list of Pictish kings (CPS., p. 398). Crin or Crina was the name of a moneyer of Cnut (DB.).
Probably contracted from Mac Braein, now MacBreen, 'Breen's Son'; but possibly a corruption of Kneen (see p. 28), which is sometimes pronounced Creen or Crinn.
