This name is extant in the eastern part of Co. Galway where, Mr. P. J. Kennedy informs me, it is pronounced Craffy, and Ó Crabhthaigh is used as its Gaelic form. A century ago Craffy was actually an accepted form of the name and it so appears in Griffith's Valuation of King's Co. (Offaly) which is not far from east Galway.
