A benefice was reserved to Adam Croke of the diocese of St. Andrew, 1329 (Pap. Lett , II, p. 314). John Cruke was a tenant in Garvalde under the Douglas, 1376 (RHM., I, p. lvii). Galfrid Crok held land in the burgh of Crale in 1421 (RAA., II, 56), John Cruik was admitted burgess of Aberdeen, 1503 (NSCM,, I, p. 41), payment was made to a 'menstrale' named John Cruke in 1529 (ALHT., V, p. 373), and Peter Croche was witness in Glasgow, 1559 (HP., II, p. 203).
