CRUMME: Perhaps from the lands of Crummy which belonged to the Abbey of Culross. John Crumme was excommunicated under letters of the Official of Lothian, 1532 (Johnsoun, p. 9). Patrick Crummy of Carriddin was keeper of the havens of Carriden, 1565 (RPC., I, p. 381), and another Patrick Crumy was summoned in 1592 to answer for certain crimes of treason (APS., III, p. 528).
