Wool makers from Flanders migrated to Suffolk County, England where wool making was also an industry. Spelling changed to Dameron. Dameron families owned three manor houses in and around Ipswich, Suffolk County, England in the 1500's. The Dameron's were loyalists during England's civil war siding with the king. The family then moved to Virginia, U.S. and spread losing the "e" in the surname around the American Revolutionary War. Very common surname in certain counties in eastern Kentucky.
