John de Dere was a witness in Brechin in 1445 (REB., I, 103), Thomas Deir or Deyr appears as a notary public in Perth, 1528—32—46 (Milne, p. 116,196; Rollok, 21), and Jhone Deir is in record as a trade burgess of Aberdeen in 1617 (ROA., I, p. 231).
