DICHMOUNT: Marion Dichmount in Revingstruther, parish of Carstairs, 1626 (Lanark) probably derived her surname from Dechmont in the parish of Cambuslang, Lanarkshire. Thomas Dechmone was first recorded schoolmaster in the parish of Shotts, 1650 (Grosart, Parish of Shotts, 1880, p. 193). See also Dechmont.
