User-submitted Reference
The Dieners in South Australia arrived in 1842 with the arrival of Hahns Christian Diener aged in his early 50s. He arrived with his son and family and settled in Eudunda. All the Dieners in South Australia are from this one family as no records of any other Diener was recorded as arriving in South Australia and all can be traced back to this one family unit. They arrived and stayed in their own conservative Prussian Lutheran community and settled in Eudunda and he and the first family groups are buried there. Subsequent generations moved south, remaining inside their Lutheran circles and all remaining as farmers.
All the Diener men have very similar medical patterns and genetic similarities. As a medical student researcher I have found that photographic records show they age prematurely - their all rather bald by their mid 20s, tall, very skinny high foreheads and despite good diets and heavy exercise all die of premature heart disease suffering heart attacks and usually die of strokes. According to records i found, all the Diener males (direct father-son lineage) all die within a small age window either side of the age of 65, with the oldest so far dying at the age of 69 of massive stoke. He suffered his first stroke at 59 and died at 69. The Diener women however have longer life spans and are not slim - instead have the typical Germanic body type - large bust, apple shaped. Prone to diabetes in later age, but not autoimmune disease or cancers. (I spent many hours asking about the health lineage of the family as a child, as my grandmother was a wealth of information of who died of what and when going back 2 generations).
