This, influenced by the French Digon or Digun (English Diccon, whence Dicconson), became Diggs or Digges; compare Diggins (v. Digance) and Diglin (which see), which can scarcely be styled corruptions. They are Anglicized French forms. The English equivalents are Dickins and Dicklin.
