DIRRINGTON: From the lands of Dirrington, near Longformacus, Berwickshire. William de Diuringdon held the lands before 1316 for an annual payment of five shillings with ward and relief (Kelso, p. 465). (The name is misspelled Dunrigdon in Morton's Monastic annals, p. 168.) A moiety of the lands of Derrington were held by Joneta Schaw, heiress of William de Deryngtone, c. 1329—1334 (Kelso, p. 405).
