Willelmus Dodde de inuirkethi, who appears as witness in a document of end of thirteenth century (RD., p. 116), as William Dod, burgess of Inverkeithing, rendered homage, 1296 (Bain, II, p. 198). There was an ancient clan of this name in North Tyne.
