Matthew de Doler was one of an inquest at Kyrcaldy, 1316 (RD., p. 235), Willielm us de Dolar was charter witness apud Dunfermellyn, 1412 (ibid., p. 280), and Andrew Dollare is in record, 1526 (Cambus., 141). Robert Dollour and James Dollour were burgesses of Kirkintilloch, 1654, and Andrew Dollour was weaver there, 1665 (Sosines, 870, 1223). John Dollor was church elder in parish of Logie, 1701 (Logie, I, p. 148). Robert Dollar (1844—932), a native of Falkirk, was a great shipping magnate in the United States, founder of the Dollar Line of steamships.
