DUNGALSON: William Dugalsone of Lanarkshire rendered homage in 1296 (RR.). A presentation was directed to the bishop of the Isles to give collation to Schir Malcum Dungalson of the chapellanry of Sanct Colme and Sanctt Finlagane in Ilaa in 1503 (RSS., I, 911). Cuthbert Doungalstoun is mentioned in 1538. Roger Dungolsoun, a witness in Dumfries, 1541 (Anderson) is most probably Roger Dungalsoun, burgess of Edinburgh, 1564 (Edgar, p. 240). Another Roger Dungalsoun, merchant burgess of Edinburgh, appears in 1601 (Retours, Kirkcudbright, 50). John Dungallson is recorded in Culmen, 1627 (Dumfries), and Florence Dungalson at Conchytoun is in record, 1674 (Kirkcudbright).
