From Where Does The Surname Originate? meaning and history

EDINDEOCHT: Local. There is an Edindiach in the parish of Huntly, Edindiack in the parish of Gartly, and Edyndiach in Keith, Banffshire, William Edyndeach was admitted burgess of Aberdeen, 1499, and Andrew Edindeauch in 1505 (NSCM,, I, p. 12, 43). Andrew Edindeocht contributed to church repairs in Aberdeen, 1508 (CRA., p. 79). Robert Edindiaucht who appears in Aberdeen, 1530 (CRA., p. 135), may be Robert Endeocht of Aberdeen whose obit is recorded in 1533 (REA., II, p. 212). Patrick Endeaucht was admitted burgess there in 1526, and Alexander Endeaut in 1529 (NSCM., I, p. 49, 51). David Endeocht who was summoned in an action of spulzie in 1557 is mentioned again as juror on an inquest (RSCA., I, p. 151,221). He is doubtless the David Indeaucht or Endiaucht who appears as burgess and dean of guild of Aberdeen, 1574 and 1582 (CRA., p. 13, 45), and the David Endiaoche of Aberdeen whose ship was lost in 1577 (SCM., II, p. 47).
