A young and enthusiastic entrepreneur at the time Ali, the main father of the family, moved to Egypt to start his farming trade. Ali was dark skinned and at the time Egyptians were prone to being extremely racist. As such Ali was nicknamed Ali The Slave or "Ali Elabd" written in Arabic "علي العبد".
