Walter Esdaill was voter in parish of Qwilton (Coylton), 1513 (Ros, 52). Rolland Esdaile appears as witness in Glasgow, 1552 (Protocols, I). George Esdaile was burgess freeman of Glasgow, 1575, John Aisdaill the same, 1599, and John Esdaill ditto, 1620 (Burgesses). George Esdaill was retoured heir of John Esdaill in Muresyd, his father, in lands in paish of Kilwinning, 1643 (Retours, Ayr, 373). John Isdaill is recorded in parish of Donyng, 1669 (Dunblane), and George Esdaill of Cameron in parish of Bonhill, 1668 (Sasines, 1423). Bessie Esdaill was examined for the Test in 1685 (RPC., 3. ser. XI, p. 433). Not likely to be from Easdale in Argyllshire.
