Bartholomew Ewinge was a burgess of Glasgow in 1555 (Protocols), and Alexander Ewyne appears in Aberdeen, 1598 (SCM., V, p. 126). George Ewein was schoolmaster of Lauder, 1621 (MCM., II, p. 47). Donald Ewing was retoured heir of William Ewing of Barindroman, Argyllshire, 1636 (Retours, Argyll, 57). George Yewing in Loanfoot of Cultamalindie, 1664 (DPD., I, p. 288), and David Yewine in Stirling, 1717 (Sc. Ant., VI p. 88). Uwing 1679.
