Farnill Surname Meaning

From Where Does The Surname Originate? meaning and history

This surname is derived from a geographical locality. 'of Fernhill,' probably the small estate so-called in Nether Alderley, East Cheshire. (2) Local, 'of Farnhill,' a township in the parish of Kildwick, West Riding of Yorks, spelt Farnhill in the Yorkshire Poll Tax, 1379. Ann Fernall, Prestbury, Cheshire, 1775: Earwaker's East Cheshire.

1777. Married — James Farnell and Susanna Chapman: St. George, Hanover Square.
