Church of Scotland, Wodrow Soc. ed., p. 421) says "Mr. Charles Ferholme (alias Ferme contracte)" was minister at Fraserburgh. Row also spells his name Fairholme, and in 1587 it appears as Phame (in Edinburgh University Catalogue of graduates). The name has been Latinized Fermaeus.
