. Hardly for the Middle English Fukkelyn (= Fou(l)ke + the French double diminutive suff. -el-in) as Bardsley asserts. More likely it is the Teutonic name-stem Fic(k)- [cp. Old English fic-ol, sly] + the double diminutive suff. -l-ing.
Richard de Wyclyne occurs in Rutland, c. 1272 (Rotuli Hundredorum). This lordship I have not found in England.
