The search is still ongoing for the origins of the Flaisman name. My G-Grandfather, Johan (John) Flaisman came to the USA in 1901 from Krsko, Slovenia, which was still Hungary at the time. We have no record of his family there, only recently did we learn he moved to Cleveland, Ohio as a young man because he believed he was involved in the murder of another man. Later in life he learned the man had lived and immigrated to Chicago, Illinois, where John went to visit him. John was 18 when he immigrated, he was fluent in 7 languages and appears to have been affluent.
