One of unknown origin is a Hungarian adjective meaning 'curly', or 'heavily wrinkled', the other's surname 'gift of God', meaning Feodorosz name. It came in two ways in the Hungarian language. On, e the Latin name, Theodorus (Theodore) and the other is the Greek Feodor, 'shape'. This -eo- vowel meeting (hiatus) in the Hungarian language was transformed to Fodor. It has no particular meaning. It was also used in the 1200s.
