Frobisher is the most prominent modern form of the surname. The 'Smiths, Forbers, and Pewterers went together in the Chester Play, inaugurated 1339' (Ormerod's Cheshire). The transposition of the o and the r has many analogies. The name Le Furbur in the H.R. is probably synonymous.
