FUKTOR: Gaelic fucadair, 'fuller (of cloth).' Euerker (Ivar cier) and Ade Fouctour, men of the bishop of Moray, had remission and protection in 1363 (REM., p. 164). Katherine Fuktour and "Marsle hyr dotthir' and the relict of Futter, were tenants in Strathdee, 1527 (Grant, III, p. 68, 70). "Merzone Ago Mc yfouctouris wif," and Elspet Innyfuktour are also recorded there in the same year (ibid.). Donald Fuktor was tenant of Swerdale, Balcomy, 1539 (ER., XVII, p. 669), and Thomas Futtor in Murthlac, 1550 (Illus., II, p. 261). Finlay Fuccatour appears in Strowane, 1601 (Dunblane), Gibboun Fuggatour in Fairlingbrek was fined for resetting Clan Gregor, 1613 (RPC., XIV, p. 643), and Adam Fuckater recorded in Chapel of Glenfroon, 1666 (Sasines, 1259) appears again in 1674 as Adam Fugater (Campsie).
