User-submitted Reference

The Glazebrook surname is derived from two Old Gaelic words glas, meaning 'green', and brock, meaning 'badger'. Glazebrook means 'badger green'. As was the custom amongst the Norman invaders of Britain, they took their name from the land they occupied in order that in a couple of generations they would be accepted as locals. Glazebrook (badgergreen) is not an uncommon place name in the UK to this day.
