From the lands of Glen in the parish of Traquair, Peeblesshire. Colban del Glen received a legacy left him by the queen, 1328 (ER., I, p. 116), and in the same year King Robert I. confirmed to Colban del Glen and Anabile his spouse the land of Quilte in the sheriffdom of Peebles (RHM., l, 35). In the following year there is recorded an annuity to Roger del Glen (ER., I, p. 209), probably the Roger del Glen who rendered to Exchequer the accounts of the provost of Peebles at Scone, 1332 (ER,, I). Duncan de Glene was a witness in 1368 (Coll. AGAA., II, p. 48). John de Glene witnessed a charter of Longneuton c. 1377 (RHM., II, p. 4),' and another John de Glen who witnessed confirmation of the lands of Mircarny in Fife, 1386 (Wemyss, II, p. 19) may Le the John de Glen who was present at perambulation of the bounds of Kyrknes and Louchor, 1395 (RPSA., p. 5). Margaret de Glen granted the lands of Harlaw and others to Walter Ogilvy of Luntrathin, 1420 (SCM., IV, p. 115), Thomas of Glen had a safe conduct into England, 1422 (Bain, IV, 914), and William Glen, armiger, was witness in Paisley, 1452 (RMP., p. 250).
