GODRICSON: 'Son of Godric,' an Old English personal name. Dugall, son of Gotrich, who served on an inquest at Berwick, 1296, is probably the Dougal Gotherykessone of the county of Dumfries and the Dougal fiz Gothrik of Wyggetone who rendered homage in the same year (Bain, II, p. 210,211, 215). Nigel fiz Gothrek of Dumfries also rendered homage at same time (ibid., p. 185). Murdac Gothreson witnessed a sasine in Fife, 1481 (Laing, 182).
