GRUOCH: Munch (Chron. Man, p. viii) says that Groa, granddaughter of Aude, daughter of Ketil Flatneb, was married to Duncan, earl of Caithness. Her name, he says, was rendered Gruach (Gruoch) in Gaelic records, and that it is very probable that from this Gruach and her husband, Duncan, the far-famed Macbeth's queen was descended, and had got her name.

GRUOCH: Munch (Chron. Man, p. viii) says that Groa, granddaughter of Aude, daughter of Ketil Flatneb, was married to Duncan, earl of Caithness. Her name, he says, was rendered Gruach (Gruoch) in Gaelic records, and that it is very probable that from this Gruach and her husband, Duncan, the far-famed Macbeth's queen was descended, and had got her name. Gruoch, daughter of Boite or Bodhe (a son of Kenneth III) was married to Gillacomgan, the pretender of the Moray house, killed in 1032. She afterwards married Gillacomgan's cousin Macbeth, who had succeeded to the Moray claim.
