Robert Hasty and John Hasty were tenants of Herthornhill in 1376 (RHM., I, p. Ixvii), Thom Hasti witnessed an instrument of sasine dated 1478 (Home, 24), and John Haisty was witness to another instrument of sasine in 1525 (ibid., 35). Henricus Hastyis was witness in Scone, 1523 (Scon, p. 203), and Thomas Haistie, a monk of Beauly, was one of those charged with oppression done to Master Gawin Dunbar, treasurer of Ross, in 1543 (Trials, I, p. 328). John Haste was one of the visitors of crafts in Stirling, 1556 (SBR., p. 278), Sandie Heistie and Robene Haistie were tenants on land of Kelso Abbey in 1567 (Kelso, p. 518,519), and Thomas Haistie held the teindscheaves of the kirkland of Gogar in the same year (Soltre, p. 130). John Hastie in Dyik of Stainebyres in 1626 and twenty-four more of the name are recorded in Lanark Commissariot Record, 1595—1800.
