(1) From the old lands of Haddirvyk or Hathirvyk in the regality of Arnbroath in Angus, Robert Hadowy or Hadowe, servant in Clunie in 1511 and 1515, appears in 1510 as Robert Hadwye, in 1511 as Robert Haderwyk, as Haderwik in 1512, and as Hadervik in 1513 (Rent. Dunk., p. 40,149, 174,177, 182,187). John Hadirvike had a precept of remission in 1536 (RSS., II, 2002), Johnne Hedderwick resigned the quarter lands of the Mains of Clein in 1585 (Scon, p. 229), and Andrew Hetherweck (Hethirweck, Hatherwick, or Henderweck) of Pittillo appears as a writer in Edinburgh in 1684 (BOEC., IX, p. 166,169, 174). (2) John of Hathyrwyk who appeers as a juror on an inquisition on the lands of Swinton in 1408 (Swinton, p. xviii), however, probably derived his surname from Hedderwick in the parish of Dunbar, Hetherweek 1699. compare Headrick.
