Randle, son of Mr. John Hopley of Farndon, was baptized in the parish church in 1790 (Coll. Top. et Gen.). Samuel Hopley, poet, of Duckington and Malpas, "left this life in hope of a better" in 1769 (O.), and the name is still in the district.
