John Horrocks from Horrocks Hall, minister of Colne, died in 1667, at the age of 77 (W. W.). Jeremiah Horrox, the eminent astronomer of the 17th century, was born in 1619 at Toxteth near Liverpool; John Horrocks founded the muslin manufacture in Preston in 1791, and afterwards represented the town in Parliament (B.). In the 13th century there was a John Horroc in Backs (H. R.).
