The aspirate is commonly found in names beginning with vowels; compare Hoddy for Oddy, or Hosgood for Osgood, or Hodson for Odson. This being settled the rest is easy. Oskin must be a diminutive like Wilkin or Watkin, and the only question is, Was it a diminutive of Osmund, Osgood, or Osberne? The 'g' in Hosking is excrescent.
