Similarly we find in the London Directory Plimsoll and Plimsaul, where the same suffix occurs. Where the spot is I cannot say. Sale, a hall (the Frenchsalle), is commonly found in the 12th, 13th, and 14th century registers. With the sharpened form Inkersoll, compare Inkerfield for Ingerfield (q.v).
