My family used both the 'Izeta' and 'Yzeta' spelling in our immediate family. My father's name was Enrique Yzeta and my mother's name was Maria de los Angeles Lugo. The oldest siblings within our family spelled it 'Izeta' and the younger ones 'Yzeta'. Most of us were (1st generation) and were born in Texas, such as McAllen, Edinburg, Brownsville, and some even in Matamoros, Mexico.
What I know of these names is that it has its origin in the Basque country. All surnames that end in 'eta' such as Yzeta, Izeta, Isseta, Abyeta originated in the Basque region of Spain - between France and Spain.
My father had siblings in the US, the ones I remember are my Tio Basilio, Tia Panchita, Tia Tomas, Tia Nicolasa, I am sure there were more but that is all I remember for now.
