It is thought that the name Calogheros and Calogiros came to be through a language barrier, and the Canadian Immigration's inability to spell Kalogeropolous, resulting in multiple variants of the name. The most prevalent is Calogheros; Elias Calogiros is the resulting founder of all Calogiros, whereas Calogheros was began by Zacharias.
