That village name could be perhaps of Slavic origin, meaning goat shed ('kozinec'). The most famous Kazinczy, Ferenc Kazinczy (1759–1831) was a Hungarian author, poet, translator, neologist, and an agent of the regeneration of the Hungarian language and literature at the turn of the 19th century. His youngest son, Lajos Kazinczy (1820–1849) was a colonel of the Hungarian Army and a martyr of the Hungarian War of Independence of 1848–1849.
