KENNETHSON: 'son of Kenneth,' which see, and so = Mackenzie. Alexander Kennethson on an inquest at Inverness, 1430 (RMS., II, 179). Thomas Kenyeochsone, juror on inquest made at Dornoch in 1545 (OPS., II, p. 641). John Kennochsen, clerk of the diocese of Ross, 1444 (Pap. Lett., IX, p. 426), is probably John Kennachtsoun (perhaps the same as John Kennati) who was chantor of Caithness in 1455 and 1497 (OPS., II, p. 617). Kenneochson or Kenndochson is found in Caithness in 1663 (Caithness).
