The surname Quingco dates from the Spanish colonial period in The Philippines. It originated from the Spaniards, who once settled the country. Most of its ancestors are Spaniards. The surname Quingco is prevalent in the Central Visayas, specifically in Cebu.

After the colonial times, some of the Quingcos fled to other parts of the country, specifically in the south. There may be variations of the surname such as Kingco and others, but these variations had retained is phonetic similarity to Quingco. These variations are because that the surname had no standardized spelling at that time.

The Quingcos are known to be religious, with most of them being Roman Catholics.

The Quingco family has its origins from the islands of Cebu. The name Quingco sounds like a Chinese surname, but actually has been influenced by the Spanish people which colonized the Philippines long ago. Spanish characteristics can be recognized from the Quingco Family.
