From Where Does The Surname Originate? meaning and history
KINGLASS: From the lands of Kinglass, near Bo'ness, West Lothian. Matthew de Kynglas, burgess of Linlithgowshire, rendered homage in 1296, and in 1312 a horse was purchased from him (Bain, II, p. 198; III, p. 421). An indenture was made between Matthew filius quondam William de Kynglas and the Hospital of Soltrs in 1306 (Soltre, p. 43, 44). Andrew de Kynglas was burgess of Glasgow, 1413 (REG., 323), and mention was made of the ortus of John Kynglasse in Perth, 1497 (RAA., II, 382).
