Woulfe states correctly that this name (Ó Cibhleacháin in Irish) is that of a family formerly coarbs of St. Feichin at Fore, Co. Westmeath. He adds that they are now scattered. The fact is, however, that the name is now mainly concentrated in Counties Sligo and Leitrim, where indeed members of the sept were already to be found in the sixteenth century, as we know from the Elizabethan Fiants.
