The Kritzingers of South Africa are mostly descendants of the brothers Johann Jakob and Johann Andreas whom arrived from Besigheim in Germany in 1769 and 1776 respectively. The original surname in Germany was Grözinger but was changed to Kritzinger on arrival in South Africa.
