Vlach is a term used by early South Slavs for the peoples that already inhabited the Balkans before they came. Those peoples were mostly Celts and Illyrians, however due to the fact that they spoke Latin and were heavily latinised, Italians were given the same name despite not living nor originating from the Balkans. Therefore Lah is an old name for inhabitants of the town Laško.
