Walter Ledbeter of Heydon was before an assize at Newcastle-on-Tyne on suspicion of robbery in Scotland in 1256 (Bain, I, 2047, m. 15). Thomas Ledbeter was custumar and provost of Linlithgow in 1328 and following years (ER., I). Alexander Leadbetter, merchant in Kelso, 1831 (Heirs, 739). Leadbetter in Glasgow, 1942.
