William Leischman or Leschman was prior of Fogo, 1465—66 (Kelso, 530—531). Mycnell Leisman in Camwath, 1529 (CBBC., p. 108), and John Leishman, burgess of Stirling, 1550 (Sc. Ant., VI p. 178), may be John Lecheman or Lescheman who was Dailie and custumar of Stirling, 1559—60 (ER., XIX, p. 83; SBR., p. 73,279). Duncan Leishman of Hiltoun and Middlethird, Stirling, and others were fined in 1622 for destroying wood in Torwood Forest. James Leischmanis dochter in Lanark, is mentioned in 1644 (RPC., 2. ser. VIII, p. 153). James Leisman in Dunsyre, 1708 (Minutes, p. 37). Six of the name are recorded in the Commissariot Record of Dunblane from 1554. Leischeman 1561.
