From Lindores in the parish of Abdie, Fife, old spellings of which are Lundoris and Lundors. Duncan de Lundoris was admitted burgess of Aberdeen in 1443, and John Lundoris in 1459 (NSCM., I, p. 7, 16), and John of Lundoris is recorded burgess of the same burgh in 1487 (CRA., p. 44). Thomas Lundoris held land in Scone in 1491 (Scon, p. 200), William Lindoor died in 1683 and was buried in Fogo churchyard, Margaret Lindores is recorded in Blaickburn in 1684 (Lauder), and payment was made to John Lindores in Home in 1713 (Stitchill, p. 167). Walterina Lindores was married in 1939.
